🔧 How to Handle Unexpected Maintenance

Manage unplanned maintenance efficiently with PlanM8, ensuring your vessel stays in prime condition.

Even with the best preventive maintenance plan, unexpected issues can arise. For these situations, PlanM8 offers a feature for unplanned tasks, easily accessible through the UPM (Unplanned Maintenance) button. Here's how to efficiently manage these unexpected tasks:

UPM (Unplanned Maintenance) Button

1. Access UPM: Find the UPM button either in the planning view or within a specific component's detail view.

2. Select Component: If you're using the button from the planning view, choose the affected component. If you're accessing it from a component's detail view, the component will already be selected for you.

3. Choose Task Type: Identify the nature of the unplanned task. Options include:
  A. Breakdown: For when a component has failed and needs immediate attention.
  B. Modification: For adjustments or changes needed for various reasons.
  C. Warranty: For issues covered under warranty that require support.

4. Describe the Task: Fill in the necessary details about the task based on its type. This may include a brief description of the issue or the intervention needed.

5. Schedule the Task: Decide when the task was performed or when it needs to be done, especially useful if you're not currently on the vessel. Scheduled tasks will appear in your planning on the chosen date.

6. Attach Files: You can add photos or documents for a comprehensive history of the intervention.

Once you complete the form, a record will be created in the intervention history, detailing all the information, whether the task is planned or already completed. If you schedule a task for the future, it will be logged as completed once it's carried out, keeping your maintenance records up-to-date and accurate.
